Marco Camacho - Candidate Q/A

I am the vice-chairman for the Oakdale Tourism and Visitors Bureau for the past year, and a board member for 6 months prior to that. I’ve lived in Oakdale all my life. I met my wife Hollie at our church and we have two girls. I’m running for City Council to help move Oakdale forward and bring progress to the city. As a Measure Y Commissioner I did my best to make sure our tax dollars were going where they needed to, and I’m blessed to be in a city like Oakdale, where anything is possible.

Ericka Chiara - Candidate Q/A

I am the wife to a local firefighter/paramedic, mom to three young men, and partner in a local business with manufacturing and retail locations in Oakdale. We moved to Oakdale in 2005 to start our family because we loved the small-town feel and sense of community. It is my goal to maintain the quaintness of Oakdale while continuing to grow our community in smart and responsible ways.

In 2018 I was appointed by Oakdale City Council to finish the term of a councilmember that had moved. Since then we have faced a few challenges as a council, many that still require understanding and the experience that we have used to navigate them to where we are now. I would appreciate the opportunity to continue my service to the people of Oakdale. I bring with me my love of liberty, my appreciation of this wonderful community, my focus on fiscal responsibility and individual rights, and my desire to keep Oakdale on the path of responsible and safe growth as a place for families and businesses to flourish while keeping our small-town character and traditions.

Curtis Haney - Candidate Q/A

Hard work, respect for your neighbor, and love of country are values that were instilled in me while growing up on a ranch here in Oakdale. Today, as an airline pilot, I continue to pass these values on to my children. As your fellow neighbor, I am running for Oakdale City Council to ensure that our small-town values continue while also looking to the future with new ideas to ensure that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are available to all Oakdale residents.

I will fight to ensure your tax dollars work for you to provide a safe community, top notch schools for your children and grandchildren, and a vibrant economy. As an airline pilot, I travel the country and see first-hand what works and doesn’t work in cities and towns across America. This unique perspective, along with my background in Agriculture and working for small family businesses, uniquely qualifies me to bring fresh ideas rooted in the heritage of our town.

I hold firm to the truth that government is for the people, by the people – That is you and me. We are the government and I would be honored to work for you!

KC Nate - Candidate Q/A

Hi everyone! My name is KC Nate and I am running for Oakdale City Council. I chose to move to Oakdale in 2019 with my wonderful wife and two young children. Although my time here has been short, it has been tremendously fulfilling. The residents of Oakdale have a pride and commitment to each other I haven’t experienced elsewhere. Whether it’s local business, athletics, or those in need, this community steps up and shows up. I am grateful to call Oakdale home and am confident I have the values, background, and abilities to help it continue prospering.

If elected, I will focus my efforts supporting our city leadership and staff, strengthening local business and the economy, backing our police and fire departments, reinforcing well-planned infrastructure, and instilling educational performance and youth development. I will ensure we develop intentionally, balancing our need to preserve small-town life while providing ample opportunities for the next generation.

I have years of experience in strategic planning, financial accountability, and operational execution. I am currently a senior administrator with one of the largest health systems in Stanislaus County and I hold a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. Lastly, I am fortunate to be endorsed by outgoing councilman Richard Murdoch, whose successes I intend to further if elected. I look forward to serving you! Cecilia A. Suarez - Candidate Q/A

My heart is in this to run for City Council because of the good, solid family charm of our community. I come from a military family and am a Veteran myself. I am not running to be a politician; I’m running for public service, to be a resource to the community.
