Ag Luncheon (Thursday, March 18th, 2010)
You are invited to the 37th Annual Ag Scholarship Luncheon on Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at the Gene Bianchi Community Center located at 110 South Second Avenue in Oakdale. Come see agricultural-related vendor booths and get product information and samples beginning at 11:00 a.m.; followed by a tri-tip and chicken luncheon. There will be speaker(s) talking about "From Our Farm to You...The Lacavore Movement." The lacavore movement encourages consumers to buy from farmers' markets or even to produce their own food, with some arguing that fresh, local products are more nutritious and taste better. Locally grown food is an environmentally friendly means of obtaining food, since supermarkets that import their food use more fossil fuels and non-renewable resources. In addition, there will be a silent auction and possibly a farmers market. Proceeds go towards Oakdale Scholarship fund. Please compete the registation, participant, and/or sponsorship form(s) below:
